president’s cognitive state so profound that it should alarm all Americans. “I had personally known President Biden for a while,

and I can tell you without reservation that due to the degra- dation of his cognitive functions, he is no longer fi t to hold the offi ce,” Jackson said. While Biden has always been prone to gaff es, what is oc-

curring now is signifi cantly diff erent, according to Jackson. He cites a series of symptoms, including the president’s

stiff gait, slurred, halted pattern of speech, and frequent memory lapses — all telling signs of cognitive decline. “You see that thousand-yard stare, or moments when he

is confused, doesn’t know where he is, or forgets people’s names, and it becomes so painfully obvious that he has no business being our head of state,” he said. The symptoms are obvious, especially for the countless Americans who have experienced this kind of decline in a loved one, according to Jackson. “All of us have had someone in our lives who has suff ered

in this way, and it is just terrible,” he said. “You don’t have to be a doctor or conduct a personal

exam on the man to see what is going on. It is right in front of us every time he takes the stage or makes a public appear- ance.” Dr. Frank J. Contacessa, an internal medicine specialist

in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has 22 years of experience in the fi eld. He agrees that even a cursory review of Biden’s numerous public appearances over the past three years in- dicates he is suff ering from a serious health issue. “You can see it in his facial expression when he exhibits

squinty, vacant eyes. That is common with dementia pa- tients,” Contacessa said. “We also see it in his posture and rigid gait, which are

also obvious signs, along with the frequent loss of ability to complete a sentence. “Taken all together, and given the rate of frequency, we

fi nd an overall pattern exhibited where I can say with a measure of certainty that the president has dementia,” he added. The only question remaining, according to Contacessa,

is to what extent the president’s mental state has been com- promised. “We can see that a number of diagnostic criteria are

met just in some of the video clips that we see. There are frequent linguistic gaff es, along with visuospatial mishaps that have led to stumbling and falls. “It also seems that his challenges are progressive, getting

Is Gavin Newsom the Answer?

Many fear he could make matters worse for Democrats. BY JOHN FUND

T

he white house insists president biden will be the Democratic Party’s nominee. Pub-

licly, all of the party’s leading fi gures are behind him. But privately there is a growing panic that Biden

would be an anchor dragging the Democratic Party down in the 2024 election. Despite dramatic eff orts to hide Biden from the public

and media scrutiny, Biden constantly provides evidence of his mental frailty. He’s denounced “Congressman Trump” and praised “President Harris.” He referred to Canadian leader Justin Trudeau as “Prime Minister Joe.” There is a fear that before the election, a serious fall, a

verbal freeze on camera, or a health scare could make it obvious that Biden is losing his grip — handing the elec- tion to Donald Trump or any other Republican. The current RealClearPolitics average of all polls

shows Donald Trump leading Biden by 2.6%. A recent Bloomberg poll showed Trump ahead by

an average of 5% in the seven swing states of Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michi- gan, and Wisconsin. Nationwide, RealClearPolitics reports Biden’s ap-

proval rating is just 40%, and the public says by 68% to 25% that the country is headed in the wrong direction. All this has Democrats preparing a Plan B, which in-

volves someone else being their nominee. Vice President Kamala Harris would certainly run,

but many people believe she would stumble out of the starting gate. The most mentioned alternative to Harris is Califor-

nia Gov. Gavin Newsom, who is already seeking the na- tional spotlight at every opportunity just in case there is a chance he can run. In addition to imposing tough new gun restrictions

in California, he has proposed a constitutional amend- ment that would impose nationwide gun controls in an eff ort to outfl ank recent federal court rulings in favor of
