We’d rather Very Nervous talk to a human than a machine. A
AI Makes Americans
rtificial intelligence (AI) will reshape how humanity lives,
works, and interacts — revolutionizing fields like healthcare, finance, and security. The groundbreaking technology
is already used extensively in many everyday fields, including automated customer service agents, travel information, and real-time translation. Yet the prospect of dealing with a
machine rather than a human fills most of us with anxiety. According to the latest Newsmax/
TIPP Poll nationwide survey of over 1,400 adults, more than two-thirds (69%) said artificial intelligence
products and services make them nervous; less than a quarter (23%) were comfortable using AI-powered services. While it is unsurprising that seniors
are the most nervous, other age groups are also uneasy. In the 18-24 age bracket, 71% say they’re not comfortable. There are also widespread concerns
AI could irrevocably upset the labor market. The World Economic Forum estimates that globally 85 million jobs will be lost to AI by 2025. Half of those
who took the survey feared that AI would replace their job.
