oting that half of U.S. adults experienced measurable loneliness even before COVID-19, Dr. Vivek Murthy, the surgeon general, says that loneliness increases the risk of mental health issues. In our Newsmax/TIPP Poll, 87% agreed that the U.S.

is currently facing a mental health crisis. Mental health struggles can lead to a range of problems, as individuals lacking access to proper
healthcare may turn to harmful methods to cope. The connection between mental health troubles and drug abuse
is well-documented. Three out of four Americans, 75%, consider it a worrying issue. Though a vast majority of those with mental health conditions
are not violent, their access to weapons is seen as a “very big problem” by 36%, and another 35% describe it as a “crisis.”
