Targeting of

The Thomas Justice

DOUBLE STANDARD: THOMAS TARGETED BY LEFT Clarence Thomas’ appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court is just as much a mega-milestone now as it was 30 years ago. Yet, Justice Thomas is still being targeted, just as he was during his confi rmation hearing by Anita Hill. Why? He has two strikes against him: Despite a childhood in poverty, he’s risen to the top on his own eff orts, defying the conventional wisdom of the left that wants to smother people like Thomas with welfare programs; and he’s a conservative who believes in freedom from government and in the power of the individual. RNC BETRAYAL It’s not Ronna McDaniel’s fault that the Republican National Committee’s funds are way below those of 2016. My closest friends and I have not donated a penny to the RNC since 2016. Here’s why. In 2016, it gave Jeb Bush several million dollars, as he was their man. He used all of it against Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Donald Trump. My friends and I discussed this and said that if the RNC is going to use our money against good conservative candidates, we would no longer donate. We wanted our money to be used against Democrats. I’m sure we’re not the only ones who feel betrayed. (“Inside Republican Revolution,” August) roger conant Corpus Christi, Texas

EXORCISE GOLDEN STATE Politically, California is downright demonic, from the top down. It may as well be run by a left-adherent cult. Evil seemingly resides here, through its governor, Gavin Newsom, and President Joe Biden. California needs real Christian candidates to come to our state and rally its heartland. ron aragon Merced, Calif.

NO MORE MONEY I have heard “if we don’t stop the Russians now we’ll be fi ghting a larger confl ict later” for 60 years. It was a lie then and is now. How can

anyone believe Ukraine can defeat Russia, whose population is three times larger, and stop it from further aggressions with only equipment from the West? More money to Ukraine will only result in more dead Ukrainians. (“Don’t Count Putin Out,” August)

COLORADO NO MORE The Colorado state Supreme Court’s seven justices, who were entirely appointed by Democrat governors, have kicked Donald Trump off the ballot. That’s to prevent him from winning the 2024 election. Sadly, the Democrats are turning a once beautiful Colorado into a typical left-run state, complete with rampant drug use, drug deaths, crime, and unchecked homelessness. Soon Centennial State cities will mirror places like San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago. They’ll be near death.

PRICED OUT Will we ever learn? As trite and clichéd as it may sound: “What goes up, must come down.” You’d think that after the Wall Street crash and Depression of 1929, several severe recessions, and the housing bust of 2008/2009, politicians, regulators, and bankers, as

well as the construction industry itself, would do something to stabilize home prices, ensuring aff ordable housing for all. We are creating a nation of house- poor renters with no chance of ever aff ording the American Dream (read genuine, bona fi de home ownership). SUPPLEMENT DANGER I’m a 72-year-old male with a thyroid problem caused by Graves’ disease. As a result of this article, “It’s Not Simply ‘Aging’” (January), I bought the supplements noted. But when I researched them I found that iodine and L-tyrosine are actually harmful for people with Graves’ disease. robert randall Brooklyn, N.Y.

HIGH-TECH HYPE Your article “Robots Take Over Our Lives” (January) relates the hard truth: A staggering 400-800 million workers worldwide will fi nd themselves out of a job due to robots and automation. Let’s ask: Is the robot going to soothe the pain of a suff ering hospital emergency room patient? Will the robot actually calm the angry retail customer who’s suff ered fi nancial loss or other gross inconvenience due to a botched
