By the time this seven-week stretch of Disney’s noted big cat theatrical behemoth closes, it will be just under three years since it began its UK tour in Bristol. Simba has been waiting so long to become King he’s launched his own range of luxury biscuits to stave off the boredom! Er, anyway this latest stage adaption of the 1994 movie, nearly as venerable itself having debuted on Broadway in ‘97, looks lavish enough to be worth the wait. Its sizeable cast is headed by Stephenson Ardern-Sodje as Simba and Nokwanda Khuzwayo as Nala, with a part for a local lad too – Owain Rhys Davies, born in Cardiff, is Ed the hyena.
