For the past few years, the Welsh Proms at Cardiff’s St David’s Hall have included a Folk Prom and this year it features one of Britain’s most popular and innovative bands. Fronted by Tyneside sisters Rachel and Becky Unthank, and featuring the arrangements and compositions of pianist and producer Adrian McNally, The Unthanks [pictured] are touring – after a two-year COVID hiatus – as an 11-piece band to showcase their new album, the optimistically titled Sorrows Away.
