Table tennis

Table tennis for all primary

children

Table tennis chiefs are promoting a new scheme aimed at attracting more youngsters into the sport.

TT Kidz is an eight-week programme developed by Table Tennis England to provide youngsters aged seven to eleven with an inspiring, engaging and fun-first experience in the sport.

The governing body trains Activators to deliver the scheme in clubs and schools, providing well- designed and fun sessions which give the TT Kidz the skills to enjoy a great game of table tennis for themselves.

Since it was launched in 2019, the programme has been delivered in 46 clubs nationally, engaging almost 750 children while TT Kidz for

schools was launched last year, providing resources including online training and more than 50 activity videos and activity cards.

Not even lockdown could stop TT Kidz, as live and recorded online sessions were available for all to join at home or in school – with some special guests joining in, including Commonwealth Games medallist Maria Tsaptsinos.

TT Kidz Awards have also been launched, allowing youngsters to chart their progress as they learn new skills while TT Kidz has even made it to the far side of the world, with Table Tennis Australia signing a licensing deal to run the programme.
