Dromad grabs special Brendon deal

Dundalk-based Dromad Hire’s Ronan Cotter (left) clinched a special two-for- the-price-of-one deal on a pair of Brendon BBW30KLN+ES bowser washers from Brendon Powerwasher’s

Stuart Haskins, at our Executive Hire Show Ireland at Dublin in June. “We already have a lot of these machines in the fleet, and we also bought

two more at the Executive Hire Show back in February. We have enjoyed the Dublin Show and it’s always worthwhile coming to an event like this.” We are now analysing feedback from the Dublin event to see how we might develop it in the future.

Turner Access to cease aluminium tower manufacture

Turner Access Ltd has signed an agreement with Pop Up Products Ltd to take over the supply of its Deltadeck low-level platform. This coincides with Turner Access’ strategic decision to scale down its

manufacture and supply of aluminium tower and low-level access ranges, with the intention to cease manufacture later in the year. This includes the Octo and Beta aluminium towers, BetaGuard, Alphastep, Sigmadeck and Omegadeck. In addition, the company has closed its training centre and aluminium tower rental division. Turner Access intends in future to grow its contract scaffolding operation

and steel system scaffolding sales. The factory will continue to manufacture Turner Octo steel and ancillary scaffolding products.

Fast Tiger expands

Swindon-based hirer, Tiger Plant, has re-located to a two-acre site opposite BMW’s pressings plant in the town as business grows. The new facility includes workshops and offices which will enable the company to launch a training academy offering courses for CPCS, PASMA and IPAF qualifications as well as classroom based O-licence and CPC modules. Director Andy

Rohrer said, “We had a solid start to 2019

and are continuing to make cap-ex investment into new machinery as we approach the 110 unit mark as well as investing in our people. We have recruited an additional fitter and are looking to appoint an apprentice.”

6 Roger Verallo returns as PASMA Chairman

Roger Verallo, MD of Euro Towers, has been elected as Chairman of PASMA (the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association) for the third time. He will formally assume the role at the Association’s Annual Members Meeting on 26 September. He has served on the Committee for 26 years. “This is an exciting time for the Association and the

access tower industry,” Roger told EHN. “PASMA and the Ladder Association have pooled resources to open a test and research centre for the benefit of their respective members and other interested stakeholders. PASMA has also sponsored the No Falls Forum, in partnership with organisations such as the Access Industry Forum (AIF), other trade associations and professional bodies committed to advancing health and safety. This is the first, and only, charity to raise awareness of the life-changing consequences and fatalities that can follow falls (and falling objects) from height. We are organising a charity ball on 9 November to raise funds for the Foundation.”

New appointments join Executive Hire team

The Executive Hire team has been strengthened with two new appointments based at its Bristol office, working on both EHN and the Executive Hire Show. Chris Moore has joined as Publishing & Events Director, while Tierney Elliott has been recruited as Sales Executive. Chris has more than 20 years’ experience in print, events,

and digital publishing, while Tierney is a recent graduate from Bath University. Both are enthusiastically looking forward to developing our customer relationships with readers, advertisers and exhibitors.
