A reflection from Andrew: This was a bittersweet experience


for me. It was difficult to hear how the Department of Work and Pensions’ processes had affected Tabby, made me think about the dehumanisation of people which can occur through blanket government policies such as these medical assessments, and also wonder how many others have been, and are


suffering, as a result. On the other hand, it was an absolute pleasure to see how empowered Tabby was to question the department’s decision, and to be able to support her in her successful efforts to overturn it. I wonder if this could potentially provide others, who are in similar situations, some hope that this may also be possible for them.
