NEW MASTERS LEVEL CLINICAL TRAINING SYSTEMIC PSYCHOTHERAPY 2021-2023

The Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Psychological Therapies Training Centre (PTTC) is offering a new two-year part time qualifying level Family Therapy training, based in Manchester and commencing in April 2021. The course will provide high quality training in the key skills required to be a systemic psychotherapist, drawing on a range of theory, models and research, with an emphasis upon adult learning principles, evidence-based practice and creative approaches within systemic family therapy. This will include individual, couple and family systemic therapy and will feature working within a live family therapy training team, supervised by an AFT accredited systemic clinical supervisor, half a day a week over the two years.

The training will also incorporate learning in relation to systemic facilitation, consultation, group work and supervision theory and techniques. Trainees will be introduced to research theory and practice skills and will be supported to complete a systemic research project during the second year of the course.

Academic validation is being sought with The University of Manchester Division of Psychology and Mental Health, within the School of Health Sciences. Professional accreditation is being sought with the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT) which will enable students to qualify for registration as systemic psychotherapists.

To discuss the training please contact our course lead Tom O'Neill on 0161 358 1595.

Applications: The closing date for applications is the 30th November 2020, with interviews taking place on the 12th and 13th January 2021. If you have any queries, would like more information, or would like to apply, please contact our administrator Chantelle Wood. Email: Chantelle.Wood@gmmh.nhs.uk Address: Psychological Therapies Training Centre, Prestwich Hospital, Bury New Road, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 3BL.

Who is the training for?

• Multi-agency, multi-professional practitioners who have completed an AFT accredited Intermediate Level systemic training course, including systemic CYPIAPT graduates.

• Applicants must have a work context within which they can apply their systemic learning in working with families over the two-year training period.

SYSTEMIC SUPERVISION TRAINING: 2020-2021

The Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Psychological Therapies Training Centre (PTTC) is delighted to announce that we are again offering both the Systemic Clinical Supervision Continued Professional Development Certificate (CPDC) Course and our Post-Graduate Certificate (PGC) in Supervision Skills for Evidence Based Psychological Therapies (Systemic Pathway). Both courses combined are accredited by AFT and begin in November 2020. Heath Education England (HEE) funding is available for collaborative partner agencies.

The courses will provide high quality training in the key skills required to be a systemic supervisor, drawing on a range of models and research, with an emphasis upon adult learning theory and principles, evidence-based practice and creative approaches within supervision. Both courses together provide training and experience in individual, co-working, team and group retrospective, systemic teaching and facilitation, and live systemic supervision and consultation.

Successful completion of both courses will enable the award of the PGC and CYP-IAPT accreditation, plus the award of the CPDC, with the aim of enabling application to the AFT List of Approved Systemic Supervisors. Please note that successful completion of the PGC alone does not enable membership of the AFT approved list of systemic supervisors or recognition of a systemic supervision qualification with UKCP.

To discuss the training please contact our course lead Gary Robinson on 07837 891 318. Applications: The closing date for applications is the 10th Oct 2020, with telephone interviews taking place before and up to the 31st of Oct. If you have any queries, would like more information, or would like to apply, please contact our administrator Jo Hewitt: Email: Joanne.Hewitt@gmmh.nhs.uk. Address: Psychological Therapies Training Centre, Prestwich Hospital, Bury New Road, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 3BL.

Who is the training for?

• Applications for both courses are invited from UKCP registered Systemic Family Therapists.

• Applicants for the CPDC must have three years post Family Therapy qualifying experience. The CPDC runs concurrently with the PGC and can be completed in the same year if you have been qualified as a Family Therapist for three or more years.

• Applicants can apply for the CPDC if they have previously completed an accredited CYP IAPT systemic supervision course and can demonstrate the equivalent learning and experience through an APEL process.

Note: If both courses are completed concurrently, as eight course days are combined PGC and CPDC days, this is a total of 18 days, rather than 26 days when the PGC and CPDC are completed in separate years.
