INDUSTRY AWARDS

ENTRIES OPEN FOR WOMEN IN MEAT INDUSTRY AWARDS Hotel, Kensington.

The annual Women In Meat Industry Awards can now be entered with ten categories available, including Meat Businesswoman Award - Craft Butchery.

Organisers received over three thousand nominations last year with the prestigious Craft Butchery category being won by Sue Winders, the Butchery Manager at Makro Liverpool who said: “I feel truly honoured to have been nominated for the award and to win it was a real surprise. Thank you to everyone who voted for me and a well done to all the other women working in the butchery trade. Keep doing it!”

The unique annual Awards was launched in January 2018 to great acclaim and once again will culminate in a five-star black tie dinner and after party at the Royal Garden

Last year the Awards recognised eight winners in different categories which this year are being expanded to ten categories. The overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award in 2018 went to Lisa Hand, the head of supply chain at Dunbia.

In addition to craft butchery, other categories include retailing, foodservice, wholesaling, and training & education.

Broadcaster, newsreader, journalist, music aficionado and 2017 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas champion, Katie Derham has been confirmed as the celebrity host for the next Women In Meat Industry Awards dinner and ceremony, taking place in London on 15th November this year.
