NEW APPOINTMENTS AT TROUW NUTRITION Trouw Nutrition GB has announced three new appointments which strengthen its sales, marketing and technical capabilities. Rosie Booth has been appointed to a


newly created role of Technical Sales and Marketing Director, responsible for managing the commercial and technical customer facing aspects of the business across all species areas. A Cambridge educated vet, Rosie gained practical experience working in a mixed species practice. She then spent 13 years in the Animal Health sector, most recently with MSD Animal Health where she led the poultry and latterly the ruminant commercial teams. A graduate in Animal Health from Harper


Adams, Sarah Wickham will bring wide experience of the merchant trade to her new role as Sales Support Manager. She spent 12 years with Rumenco in a variety of roles before covering the Central Territory as Area Business Manager. For the last two years she has worked as a Territory manager for a point of care


diagnostic company selling directly to veterinary clinics. Richard Remmer brings considerable


expertise to the role of Pig Technical Manager. From a pig farming background, he studied biochemistry and nutrition at Newcastle University. Since then he has accumulated over 30 years working in the premix and feed additive industry, as a formulator and nutritionist before becoming Technical Manager for an international feed additive business. Most recently he held a commercial and technical role with a large premix and additive supplier.


HEIDI HALL IS AWARDED A 2019 NUFFIELD FARMING SCHOLARSHIP Heidi Hall, Anpario’s Global Technical Manager for Swine, has been awarded a prestigious Nuffield Farming Scholarship to study ‘The Power of the Microbiome to Produce Happy, Healthy Pigs’. Heidi explains: “I am keen to explore the


interaction between nutrition and animal health to fully understand how we can better raise animals for the future in a sustainable way”. Heidi has a BSc Hons Zoology degree from


the University of Leeds and has worked in the field of animal nutrition and gut health for 7 years, she is passionate about the British Pig Industry and works closely with farmers in the UK to improve pig health and performance. Heidi says: “I am thrilled to be awarded a Nuffield Farming


Scholarship and planning to travel to USA, China, Denmark and Italy to look at different production systems, discovering novel initiatives to


learn how best to produce pigs. I firmly believe in bringing innovative natural solutions to farmers, helping to produce healthy food in a world with growing populations and finite resources without the use of antibiotics in a sustainable and natural way”.


DELACON APPOINTS INTERNATIONAL POULTRY EXPERT AS CUSTOMER TECHNICAL SERVICE MANAGER Delacon has appointed the international poultry expert, Francisco Dias as new Customer Technical Service Manager Poultry based in the UK. He will be involved in product development and as a technical support for customers and distributors worldwide. Furthermore, Francisco will execute, analyse and report new trials for poultry.


Francisco has more than 12 years of experience in the poultry


industry. He worked for Brasil foods (BRF) in Brazil as poultry health manager, and as a global poultry consultant for Vetworks in Belgium. His previous collaboration in the poultry industry was as Corporate Product Manager for HIPRA in Spain. After his graduation in Veterinary Medicine in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Francisco completed two post graduate diplomas in poultry science in Brazil at Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU), and in Scotland at the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC). Last year he graduated a PGDip in Marketing at Anglia Ruskin University from Cambridge, UK.
