Te Giannuzzis at their new home in Bellway’s Regents Walk development

Newlyweds enjoying fresh start at Newport development

It’s been a whirlwind few months for newlyweds Carlo and Emma, who tied the knot and moved in to their new home in the space of one week. Having shared a mortgage with his brother, Carlo, 32, a project manager at an energy firm, and Emma Giannuzzi, a 28-year-old team manager, wanted to move out of their three-bedroom semi-detached home before they got married. Te couple made the move to a spacious three- bedroom detached home at Bellway’s Regents Walk development, off Tregwilym Road, Newport, with their two-and-a-half-year-old son Rico. And having previously lived in a new build home, the couple knew about the benefits of buying new. Emma said: “It was a truly unforgettable and hectic week. Only a maniac wants to get married and then move in to a new home a few days later. “We wanted to stay close to our families in Newport, so when we visited Regents Walk we were delighted with the home’s layout and build quality. We really wanted a kitchen/diner with a nice garden and our home has everything we were looking for.

“And when we found out there was a school being built on site, it was just too good to turn down. “Cath in the sales team was excellent and explained how the Help to Buy Wales scheme could help us stretch our money that little bit further.” Under the scheme home-hunters can secure their home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. Te remaining 20 per cent is then paid off as an equity loan, which remains interest free for five years. Te new build home was the family’s chance to inject their home with their own style. Emma said: “We never had the opportunity to stamp our own personality on our old place but this home gives us a fresh start to make our house feel more like a home. “We’re very nearly finished tweaking it to our liking – just putting in the final touches in fact. As we want to stay here for a long time, we wanted it to be just perfect.” Bellway is building 226 new homes at Regents Walk and the company has just purchased land for the
