Tir a Môr Scout District and South East Glamorgan Girlguiding are pleased to be holding the 64th Barry Scout and Guide Annual Fete in Romilly Park on Saturday 1st July 2017.

This year’s

fete celebrates 30 years of Rainbow (girls age 5-7) section of Girlguiding. The local Scout & Guide Groups are totally self-fi nancing organisations with no government fi nancial support. It costs over £120,000 per annum to run these local Scouting and Girlguiding groups, all of which has to be raised by supporters, and the Barry Scout & Guide Annual Fete is an important part of this ongoing task. The fi rst ever Scout Fete was held at Romilly Park was in 1933, when it was called a KYMSPAUMI. The Scout Fetes were resurrected after the 2nd World War, when the groups were desperate to raise funds. In 1985 the Scouts invited their sister movement the Girlguides to take part. Scouting and
