Not sure if this was from someone who knew me or not? An illuminous lime green mankini and a rubber boob stress ball - good or bad you decide. Have I worn them? Well I still have both stashed away in some bag I’m sure ready for an outing.

ALEX WORLEY, SAILING CAPTAIN A crew member (who, like me is not a fan of secret santa) picked himself and didn’t tell anyone. We found out on Xmas day when we were handing out presents as he was sitting in the corner of the crew mess with a very smug look on his face. Brilliant.

PEOPLE REQUEST THE STRANGEST THINGS

I’d like a ‘real live’ mermaid to

be lowered by the crane into the water during breakfast service.

DID YOU KNOW? A SINGLE ACRE OF SEAGRASS CAN SUPPORT NEARLY 40,000 FISH AND 50 MILLION SMALL INVERTEBRATES, SUCH AS LOBSTERS AND SHRIMP

ADRIATIC STURGEON Native to the Adriatic Sea and large rivers in Albania,

Croatia, Greece, Italy, Montenegro and Slovenia. Specimens can grow to a length of about 2m and weigh up to 25kg with an olive-brown back, paler flanks and whitish belly. Sturgeon are slow- growing fish and do not reach sexual maturity until they are 15 to 20 years old. They join many other species in the Adriatic as being classified ‘critically endangered’.

MARTIN JEPP, ENGINEER It’s nice to work within a friendly team and it’s great when we all have the same sense of humour. A recent crew mate and friend had wrapped a laminated photo of themselves with a pocket pack of handy tissues and some hand cream.

CHRIS SNYDER, CHEF

I GOT A PONY!!!!!! I would pack up and leave yachting forever for. My secret santa had handmade a pony out of things he found on the boat, using a plastic Tupperware as a stall. It had hay, a window, It was so clever, and I was ecstatic.

MARK WOODMAN, ENGINEER I bought a gimp mask and a gag ball once. I hoped that a stewardess who never stopped talking would get it. Sadly, my second engineer got landed with it. Worked out quite well though as he is a kiwi so that sort of thing was right up his street.

There never was a great man yet who spent all his life inland.

Herman Melville

DAVE RENS, ENGINEER Our Captain fired a stew just before Christmas. I wrapped up a stuffed poop emoji pillow and put it under the tree to Captain from your stew. He felt bad that she’d bought him something until he opened it, and then blamed the chief officer!
