Is it just me, or is anybody else happy to leave the first three months of 2018 behind…? The sickness and flu viruses, that were NASTY! The freezing weather, and how about that deep snow in March? Facebook kindly reminded me that on the same day last year I was lambing on a farm with Libby and Max! It was a challenging time for local businesses and local families, so I’m delighted to ditch it as we bound into Spring 2018!

I want to thank those members of the Babies on board team who raised money during Fundraising February and of course all of the local people who donated, and took part in all the activities. Every single penny has been paid in to the Watford General Special Care Baby Unit, which provides high dependency care, short term intensive care and special care to premature babies born from 28 weeks gestation. The unit provides an area where babies who require closer monitoring, treatment and support than that of a Post Natal Unit can be nursed alongside their mothers, thereby avoiding unnecessary separation. Check our next magazine to see exactly where the money gets spent… One question I have been asked a lot, is why I didn’t set up a Just Giving Page? The answer is that we wanted the money to go to the SCBU, and not to the hospital in general. Flick through the magazine to see how much we raised for 2018!
