Wacker Neuson shares its battery tech From Autumn 2021, the batteries made for


Wacker Neuson’s soil compaction equipment will work on Bomag machinery of the same. “Our interchangeable battery has the


potential to power a wide range of construction equipment. By enabling another manufacturer to use our battery, we are further accelerating the adoption of emissions-free construction equipment and underscoring Wacker Neuson’s commitment to fast-tracking carbon reductions,” explained Stefan Pfetsch, MD of the Wacker Neuson factory in Bavaria.


KDM HIRE OPENS NEW DEPOT Belfast based KDM Hire has invested £1.3 million in a splendid new tool and equipment


hire depot in the Castlereagh area south of the city. The new tool and equipment hire outlet adds to KDM's existing four depots in Mallusk


and Dublin, alongside a cabin hire yard and headquarters, both based in Cookstown, County Tyrone. The new depot is spacious and well stocked with a large range of modern equipment to suit customers in the construction, industrial and DIY sectors. The £1.3 Million investment is part of an ongoing £11 Million expansion strategy to


maintain the KDM's place as one of the country’s leading hire companies. New product offerings are apparently in the pipeline, with some due to be launched in the coming weeks. Meantime, the company has also acquired a three-acre greenfield site in Dublin, which they hope to have operational later this year. These expansion plans will likely see staff numbers grow from 155 to over 180 during the coming year. A spokesperson for the company said: “This is an exciting time for KDM hire, coming


out of a tough year brought on by the pandemic. This new depot provides us with a platform to reach new customers while offering existing customers an improved local service when working in the East of the province “We believe this state-of-the-art depot sets a new standard for tool & compact


equipment hire in the UK. It is also a deviation from our existing operations which are all based on large hub-type facilities covering sites from two – six acres."


HSC six-pack The Hire Supply Company has


launched six new products from Master, all aimed at cooling and sanitising the environment. The first three models of evaporative coolers offer air flows from 12000 to 30000m3 per hour, all with Integrated UV lamps for disinfecting water to help reduce the risk of airborne viruses and bacteria. The new model numbers to note are BC121, BC221 and BC341. In the same arena, three new 240 volt cooling fans boast air flows ranging from 6450 to 10200m3 per hour, all ideal for keeping a site temperate when/if the warm weather deigns to return. The new models are DF20, DFX20 and DF30, and all six products come with Master's three-year limited warranty.


Speedy buys big with


DingLi Speedy Powered Access has bought 130 new platforms from Chinese manufacturer, DingLi. The Speedy investment buys the


JCPT0807DCS and JCPT1008DC scissors – attaining working heights of 8 and 10 metres – and the AMWP8100 mast boom lift reaching up to 9.2m.


Steven King joins GGR


Group Not that one, sadly, but hire stalwart Steven King of A-Plant provenance, who joins GGR Group as Commercial and Sales Director. King has over 23 years in the sector,


including 21 years at A-Plant, where he held a number of senior managerial positions, and a spell at secure storage specialists Elliot. Speaking of his new role, he said: “GGR is a future focussed innovative business which puts their customers first and values their people. I'm very proud to be a part of this company and look forward to working with such an industry leading team.”


Largest UK order for JCB Sunbelt is investing £65 million in 2,100 new


JCB machines, making it JCB's biggest ever order from a UK customer. The new order will include Loadall


telescopic handlers, mini and midi excavators, site dumpers, tracked excavators, rough terrain fork lifts and 350 JCB access platforms. Elsewhere, the Sunbelt order arrives as JCB awards permanent contracts for hundreds of agency workers. The machines themselves are supplied by Greenshields JCB and are already in production.
