In light of recent uncertainty, due to Covid-19 in particular, which proves to be a force to be reckoned with, as it is for many other businesses worldwide, GGR Group is facing the recent turmoil head on. It still continues to supply equipment to a range of critical service industries and sites that remain open. GGR Group cannot completely shut down operations. However, it is following government guidance, and has prioritised the safety of its staff by moving as many of them as possible to remote working.
6.26 Full Electric telehandler
In partnership with Italian company Faresin, GGR Group has recently introduced the 6.26 Full Electric telehandler to the UK market. This innovative vehicle is considered as an environmentally
friendly alternative for single and multi-shift material handling operations. Powered by a lithium battery, the 6.26 operates for up to six hours and has a lifting capacity of 2.6T. Indeed, the vehicle is said to offer identical performance to traditionally fuelled telehandlers, albeit without the attendant noise and the CO2 emissions. Charging the telehandler requires 3.75 hours using the external three-phase charger, or as little as 1.5 hours with an optional fast charger. The on-board 300Ah Lithium battery is good for approximately
2000 work cycles, which is equivalent to 4.4 years of use. The telehandler can also be ‘opportunity-charged’ at any time without risk of damage or life reduction to the battery. The new telehandler also offers all-wheel drive, 4 wheel

Graeme and Gill Riley pride themselves on the way their family values extend to their staff, and beyond to the supply chain. Amongst the 150 people employed at the company, some of the original employees still work within the business, and some of those employees have second generations of their own families who also work at GGR. There are a large number of ex-military personnel in the company, with all the practical nous and organisational skills they bring. The family business vibe is pushed from the top and the owners open up the doors of their homes each year to staff and friends of the business to celebrate the year’s success.
Entrepreneurial thinking is the key to GGR Group’s success, and much can be attributed to product innovation. The company thrives by maintaining relationships with key suppliers and by hiring the right staff. After 25 years of hard work, GGR Group can confidently advise that any start-up business can make itself a success, as long as it is continually monitoring the external environment, along with a heap of grit and determination.

steering and a heated cab, making it ergonomic and suitable for working in such diverse sectors as construction, agriculture, civils, forestry and infrastructure-based applications. It is also designed for use in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, recycling and cold storage. The 6.26 Full Electric telehandler acknowledges
green concerns and is a step in the right direction for GGR Group. Adaptable, durable and, for our money, attractively designed, it is available for demo and sale right now. See
