WASTE RECYCLING Doosan dealer in Tyre Boss deal


EQUIPMENT and machinery dealer, Mason Bros, is one of South Wales’ largest equipment dealers. With depots in Dyfed and Bridgend, the company represents leading brands of equipment including Doosan, Bomag, Rammer and Ifor Williams, among others.


Jack Mason, one of the owners, recently did a deal with local metal recycling business, GLJ Recycling, for one of his stock Doosan DL300 models - but needed to supply the machine with a set of solid tyres rather than the pneumatic tyres fitted to the machine.


This gave Jack the perfect opportunity to test the service of Tyre Boss, another Welsh-based business. After a call to Wayne Collins, Sales Manager of the OTR tyre specialist, he agreed to purchase a set of TY Cushion 23.5-25 D2A tyres with a buy-back on the existing tyres.


A tyre swap was made at Mason Bros Dyfed depot by the technicians from Tyre Boss and the machine was duly delivered to the customer’s site. It has since been productively used for metal and scrap handling duties. With the Ty Cushion solid tyres, the customer has experienced no punctures or tyre damage and thus no machine downtime due to tyre issues.


“The whole deal was effortless," said Jack. "My customer is very happy and I don’t have to shift the surplus tyres because that was part of the deal with Tyre Boss. It made our life easier and I will certainly make use of this type of deal again.”


The team at Tyre Boss, with their


extensive contacts in the off-highway machinery sector and with tyre dealers, have already sold on the brand new pneumatics.


New Sentinel branding signals innovation in vehicle safety


ON its first anniversary following new ownership, Sentinel Systems, the long established commercial vehicle safety company, has relaunched, giving itself a brand new identity.


With distinctive colours of orange and black, the new logo style carries the strapline ‘Specialists in Vehicle Safety’ reflecting the changing direction of the company which pioneered commercial vehicle reversing safety systems in 1986.


Sentinel MD, John Little explained: “Whilst the company still offers reversing systems, these are greatly enhanced from the early days and now use radar or ultrasonic sensor technology. But today the most popular products are camera and recording systems so we wanted our new identity to show that our real focus is on overall vehicle safety.”


Demand for Sentinel Systems products continues apace with the company increasing its staffing by 25% through the recruitment of additional service engineers, procurement and management staff.
