ISSUE 163

August 2019

by Richard Hollis, Editor

YOU know, some industries not a million miles from ours effectively grind to a halt during the month of August as everyone grabs their suitcases and heads for the nearest beach/airport. Sat at my desk as I am in shorts on what feels like the hottest day that ever there was, I have to say it sounds a very tempting idea.

But for many of us, this is instead the busiest time of the year. If it wasn’t enough that we have phones ringing off the hook, we have the industry’s biggest expo show to plan for as well.

RWM has certainly faced a challenge or two in its time. Many industry expo events starts to lose momentum after a number of years, so keeping it fresh is a constant challenge. And then Letsrecycle Live offered a tempting and successful event earlier in the year. So all eyes will be on Birmingham this September.

Turn to page 16 to get a sneak peak about what RWM has in store to recapture the heart of the industry this year.

As always, Skip Hire & Waste Magazine will be exhibiting and I hope to see many of you there. We’ll be looking to chat to as many of you as we can and are currently buried in roller banners, offer forms and promotional products.

But before all that, someone fetch me an ice lolly!

As ever, please enjoy the magazine and don’t forget to follow us on social media ‒ we always love hearing from you!

Richard H.
