• Retirement scheme opens in London
The 78-bedroom 18th-century former hotel
building is used for residential, nursing and respite care and has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. As part of the project, care home operator,
brighterkind, specified the creation of 84 level- access shower rooms and shower areas, with integrated wetroom floor and corresponding accessories including grab bars, toilet rolls holders and support accessories. And Impey’s LevelDec EasyFit wetroom floor
formers were selected for each of the rooms. Designed with fast and easy installation in mind,
each of the LevelDec EasyFit floor formers fitted with vinyl wastes creates an ideal gradient of 1:40 for quick and efficient drainage. Intelligent engineering ensures the strong
honeycomb structure of the system creates strength and rigidity; easily able to accommodate up to 300kg – 40 stones – and effortlessly supporting both wheelchair users and their carers. Keen to maintain a modern look to the bathroom
accessories, brighterkind opted for the Boston Comfort and Safety range. Products included a variety of straight and
angled multi-purpose safety bars, as well as folding shower seats, towel racks, hooks, soap holders and dispensers, 2-in-1 toilet roll holders, anti-slip grips, and a safety shower bar. Rachel Warrington, design manager at
Season has opened its latest retirement facility in the heart of Lewisham, south London. Part of a development by parent company, One Housing; the project includes 30 two-bedroom apartments. Being marketed by SiteSales Property Group; every unit has large windows and patio doors and is fronted by outside patios, balconies or terraces. The development is populated with mature trees and connected by spacious covered walkways and each property opens onto a lush central south-facing garden. The 30 apartments will be available for the over 57s and come ready for smart technology to be installed.

brighterkind, said of the project: “We were keen to specify products which excelled functionally, as well as complementing the clean, modern aesthetic of the showering facilities throughout the property. “It’s important that the rooms feel as homely as
possible and the Impey products have helped to achieve this.” The wetrooms and products were installed by Premier Contracting (Southern).
