BOGE EO series compressors generate oil-free air in a whisper BOGE has completed its popular EO series of quiet, compact compressors by adding two new models – one with an integrated dryer, the other a triple unit with high flexibility. The EO11D and EO16 are characterised by low sound pressure levels, low-vibration running characteristics, and a compact design, making them particularly suitable for laboratories and hospitals. The new EO11D model has a motor rating of 11kW (15HP) and is available in 8 and 10 bar versions. The EO16 is a triple unit that offers high redundancy – and therefore maximum flexibility and safety. All models are equipped with BOGE’s Focus control 2.0 as standard.

White aluminium trunking does Sterling job for hospital Ward upgrades at Barnstaple’s North Devon District Hospital required cable management that met cleanliness / durability requirements coupled with the capacity and flexibility to deliver bedhead services. Facilities managers also requested that the trunking was metal; and Marshall- Tufflex’s three-compartment Sterling Aluminium 3002 in white delivered the ideal solution. Andy Scourfield, of specifier M&E Masters of Barnstaple, said: “In other wards PVC trunking had been used, but for the most-recent upgrades the hospital stipulated metal for its enhanced hygienic properties. Sterling also represented the most-economically-viable solution compared with other products of its type.”

The sky’s the limit Forbo Flooring Systems has played a vital role in bringing the outside in during the design of Erskine Court, a new extra-care housing scheme for Southampton City Council. Forbo’s Flotex Metro collection was chosen in a variety of colours to help residents identify their own floor and apartment. It was installed in the breakout areas of each floor and in each lift and stair landing area. The Citrus colourway was used on the ground floor to represent leafy grass; Tangerine was used on the first floor to represent earth; and the blue shade, Petrol, was used to help residents recognise they are on the top floor.

Abloy UK secures Spire Manchester Hospital Abloy UK has supplied Spire Manchester Hospital with PROTEC2 CLIQ and Traka 21 advanced key management systems to improve the security of medicines. Spire specified a combination of PROTEC2 CLIQ keys and cylinders which were retrofitted to a range of Bristol Maid drug cabinets. Staff CLIQ keys are housed in Traka 21 key cabinets. PROTEC2 CLIQ is an easy-to-use access control system based on mechanical high-security disc cylinders combined with highly-encrypted electronic locking and identification. Power to the lock is provided by the CLIQ key, therefore no batteries or wires are required. The system allows for remote key management, providing comprehensive audit trails on locks and padlocks.
