Children entering Phase Three will have grasped around 19 letters. They will be able to blend and segment phonemes to read and spell VC words.Children should be able to blend and segment CVC words orally. Phase Three will teach an additional 25 graphemes in order for children to be able to represent a total of 42 phonemes by a grapheme. Children will also learn letter names, read and spell some tricky words and continue to practise CVC blending and segmenting to use their expanded knowledge on reading and spelling two-syllable words and captions.
1 Phase Three Kit
