Tibard celebrates its 40th year J

uly 5 marked the 40th year since Tibard, a leading chefswear and hospitality uniform provider, first opened for business.

Founded by husband and wife John and Sue Shonfeld in Mottram, Tameside in 1979, Tibard has long been the clothing of the hospitality industry. Originally it was just the two of them, selling chef jackets and providing laundry services to local restaurants. Since that day, the business grew exponentially into a leading manufacturer and supplier of uniforms to all business sectors. As of 2019, Tibard employs more than 120 people in the UK including expert machinists, designers and engineers at its newly expanded manufacturing facility in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester. Tibard now makes over 10,000 workwear items a week for chefs, front-of-house and kitchen staff. With customers including some of the biggest restaurant chains in the country, including TGI Fridays, Pizza Express and Wagamamas, Tibard is incredibly proud to serve such corporate groups as a family business.

Mr Shonfeld, said: “Tibard was born out of the local hospitality industries need for high-quality chefswear and this expanded to supplying restaurants with a reliable resource for all their uniform but being a family run business I believe makes us special as weʼre approaching business with a personal approach that extends to everyone from customers to partners to employees.”

On July 5, Tibard hosted customers, suppliers and staff both old and new to a day of celebrations including an open house at the newly renovated 60,000sq ft site in Tameside, Greater Manchester where stakeholders were invited to tour the new facility. The day's festivities went into the night with an official anniversary party at the Village Hotel, where everyone celebrated this momentous occasion.

Prism Inks celebrates 20th anniversary J

uly saw Prism Inks celebrate 20 years as one of the industryʼs most innovative and advanced ink manufacturers.

Founded in Sunnyvale, California, as an offshoot of Topaz Technologies, Amir Ajanee, CEO and president, and Graham Dracup, vice president of engineering, co-founded the company based upon a philosophy of using world class manufacturing and development for the benefit of customers and its employees. Being situated in Silicon Valley has provided a competitive R&D advantage in providing leading edge and

environmentally safe products. Both Mr Ajanee and Mr Dracup are immigrants to the US. Mr Anajee came from Pakistan as a teenager, while Mr Dracup was born in the UK and immigrated to work at Topaz Technologies. Both men worked at Topaz Technologies, but had an entrepreneurial itch to start their own company together. When the opportunity presented itself, Prism Inks was formed. Mr Ajanee said: “We are true believers in the American dream of working hard to achieve fuller lives and better opportunities for all of our coworkers so that they participate in the success of the company. For years we have shared a portion of the annual profits with our employees so that their hard work is further recognised and rewarded. This is really important to both Graham and me.” Mr Dracup added: “Although I am pleased with the exponential growth rate and financial success of the company, I am far more proud of being able to provide well- paying jobs with excellent benefits to our employees. Prism Inks is a melting pot of employees with diverse backgrounds like Amir and me, and being able to provide for our employees is indeed a blessing.”
