FESPA Review

A product launch platform S

Screen printing…

creen printing remains the bread and butter of FESPA, but digital printing is on the rise. In a nod to this many hybrid products to help deskill or enhance the screen printing process were launched at the show. Detailed below are a few examples of such products. Roq bought its full

range of printing

solutions to FESPA,

including the new Roq Hybrid. This digital textile

printer has been designed to work in conjunction with an automatic screen printing machine, allowing any printer to take the best out of digital and screen printing at the same time. Also receiving its debut was the CTS Ink, a specialised digital printer, designed to print screens for the screen printing process.

s technology advances, many companies are exploring ways of making the digital printing process quicker and easier. By reading on you will be able to find out more about some of these products. The Kornit Vulcan received its first public showing at FESPA. This printer is a digital rival to screen printing carousels and is targeted at screen printers producing collections and short runs for retailers and promotional purposes. It sports a conveyor system for the printed pallets with pre-treatment, white and CMYKRG printing happening in parallel. It can print up to 250 garments per hour, both on dark and light garments. Visitors were also able to see on Kornitʼs stand the

Storm Duo and the Avalanche Hexa R- Series. It was also announced

during the exhibition that

FESPA 2017 came to a close on Friday, May 12. Here P&P presents a whistle-stop tour of some of the new products launched at the show, as well as others that were exhibited.

Amaya Sales UK would become a distributor for all Kornit products, enabling Amaya to now sell to high production customers.

At FESPA,

MHM presented the iQ-Digital. According to the company this is the first and only hybrid machine

iQ-Digital

which combines digital and screen printing. Printing in only one stroke, two designs and two different production on one machine is possible. At its maximum speed this machine can print 1,080 pieces per hour. Receiving its formal launch at FESPA was M&Rʼs DigitalSqueegee, a new high-speed DTG digital print head. It can deliver a full colour 40x50cm image in less than five seconds. It can be integrated with newer M&R automatic presses and the CMYK images printed are fully compatible with standard and advanced screen printing techniques, which can be used either before or after the digital print takes place. ASPE took along its RapidTag silkscreen machine. This machine allows any print shop to quickly and cost-effectively relabel garments and promotional products, performing all necessary steps on-board so there is no need for additional equipment.

Mimaki went bigger and bolder at FESPA with two stands; one in the digital hall and one in the textile hall. The exhibition marked the European debut of the Mimaki TS30-1300 and the UJF-3042MkII EX. The TS30-1300 is a 1.3m wide roll-to-roll sublimation inkjet printer for the textile industry. It offers an ideal solution for clothing and apparel companies looking for a simple dye sublimation printer. The UJF-3042MkII EX offers a unique approach to value- added printing by combining four steps into one: delivering the ability to place primer for strong ink adhesion, white ink for high print opacity, full colour CMYK printing and a clear print surface treatment, all in one operation.
