The Screen Print Workshop returns to Printwear & Promotion LIVE! in 2017 after a successful launch in 2016. Attendees will be able to benefit from seminars and live demonstrations throughout the three days of Printwear & Promotion LIVE!
Once again, the speakers will be presenting a range of topics that will be of great interest to existing screen printers and novices alike.
Sunday, February 26
11am How important is the artwork/positive and correct exposure? Why a good quality, high contrast positive is essential for professional level full exposure and excellent results. Includes an overview of the needs and properties of film positives and why a RIP and printer for production of film positives has become a vital but often ignored part of many print shops. Presented by Douglas Grigar, master screen printer and educator.
12pm A guide to selecting the correct emulsion An overview of the emulsion types available to screen printers of garments, bags and textiles. Plus an opportunity to explore and understand how key processing steps can affect the performance of these emulsions. Presented by William Shorter, product manager, CPS. This session includes a live demo on coating emulsions.
1pm How to select new equipment and update existing equipment
An overview of the current equipment available for screen printing (focusing on garment printing) and the often- missed bits and pieces needed daily in professional shops. This includes a printing demo and a question and answer session at the end of the presentation. Presented by Douglas Grigar. This session includes a live demo.
2pm Making the step change from conventional to digital stencil making Tips and facts on managing the shift change from conventional to digital stencil making. Presented by William Shorter.
3pm How to deal with the top three screen printing production problems
Over 90% of all production print problems fall into the big three: off contact, pressure, and print speed. We discuss the big three and the variable demands of the production floor. A detailed demonstration of the best manual screen printing technique is included. Using this universally accepted method will prevent repetitive motion injury and reduce operator fatigue. Presented by Douglas Grigar. This session includes a live demo.

1pm A guide to exposure determination and the impact of artwork
An overview of how exposure and the artwork process can affect the durability and the quality of the image that you are printing. Presented by William Shorter. This session includes a live demo on exposure.
