Wake Smith bags new lease for Bag It Don’t Bin It S
heffield tote bag producer Bag It Donʼt Bin It is expanding its independent business for the third time in 18 months with help from Wake Smith Solicitors. The company, headed up by managing director Daya Singh and finance director Marc Larsen, has taken a five year lease on new 8,000sq ft premises just up from its current base on Rutland Road. The new unit takes the size of the business premises for the 44-strong manufacturer to 21,500sq ft and creates greater storage space and potential further office space for the successful eco-friendly bag supplier.
Mr Singh said: “As a manufacturing company based in Sheffield we are always looking at ways to grow and to keep things local. We're based in the heart of steel city and wouldn't have it any other way. “We started looking for a new site due to the increasing demands of our business, plus, with the on-set of Brexit looming, we decided to increase our stock holding to ensure we didnʼt get caught out with any potential delays at sea or airports. Hence, more stock meant more storage space was needed.

“There could be potential jobs in the pipeline if we decide to relocate some staff in the new unit which would create space in our current site to grow production facilities, and therefore mean increasing our head count.” Solicitors Wake Smith advised on the

Mr Singh added: “We used Wake Smithʼs commercial property team during our management buyout of Bag It Donʼt Bin It in 2017 and found their services to be exceptional.
“When we took over the business our existing site was around 8,000sq ft which we extended by taking on another unit with the help of Laura Sanderson. We have out-grown this site within 12 to 18 months, which is why we needed a third unit.
“As anticipated, we found Laura Sanderson to be very professional; securing all the loose ends swiftly. Quite frankly, we didnʼt think twice to re-instruct her again on this new unit lease. “Working with Wake Smith was an excellent experience; their dedication and professionalism was second to none by delivering on all points.” Laura Sanderson, solicitor in Wake Smith's commercial property division, said: "We were really pleased to be able to advise BIDBI on the unitʼs lease requirements. "We are delighted to have helped another independent business expand and wish them the best of luck for the future."
