A&E displays focus on the future in 9th annual Corporate Sustainability Report

its 9th annual Corporate Sustainability Report, titled ʻA Focus on the Futureʼ, which highlights the companyʼs annual progress in environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility. A&E measures its performance against goals outlined within its Eco-Driven program, the Ten Threads of Sustainability, with a mission of ensuring that future generations will have a great place to live and work. A&E president, Chris Alt, said: “A&E has

achieved and challenges faced over the last 12 months in this important area for our company. We remain committed to holding ourselves accountable to our customers and stakeholders as we conduct our business in a transparent and


ethical fashion.” Highlights within the 2018/19 report


include: ● Water stewardship


A&E has recycled and reused over two


billion litres of wastewater at global operations since 2013 and has seen a 41% reduction in global water consumption (litres per kg of thread)


since 2006. ● Recycling and waste reduction A&E has achieved 100% Zero-Waste-to- Landfill status at 16 global manufacturing operations and support facilities in 2018, with five other operations recycling more than 90% of byproducts and created


waste. ● Global carbon footprint and energy conservation


A&E has seen a 13% reduction of global carbon footprint (CO2e in kg per kg of thread) since 2006 and an 11% reduction in global power consumption (KwH per kg of thread) since 2006. In addition, 45% of A&Eʼs global energy portfolio for steam production consisted of renewable fuels in 2018.

Result creates mini movies to promote outerwear range T


o promote key new or seasonal products in its outerwear range, Result has created a range of mini


movies.


The new short videos showcase key products in Resultʼs range, which are worn by models to give viewers a greater appreciation for the look, fit and cut of the garment.


The minute-long films, which have been initially released to Resultʼs distributors, point out key features of the items such as pockets, lining, zip and stitching details to help customers better understand the

products; giving them an immersive experience of the garment. Director for Result, Sara Sanders- Smith said: “It can be difficult to visualise the quality and specification of a product from just an image or description in a brochure or on a website, we therefore wanted to offer our customers a more demonstrative and engaging experience of some of the key products in our range. “With some great videography and styling we have been able to give end users a real 360⁰ feel of the garments.”


Mutoh obtains Greenguard Gold Certification M


utoh Europeʼs range of US-11 series flexible UV LED inks has been awarded Greenguard Gold Certification.


With this certification, Mutoh US-11 series inks meet the UL 2818-2013 Gold Standard for chemical emissions for building materials, finishes and furnishings. The certification provides assurance that the US-11 series inks meet some of the worldʼs most stringent and comprehensive standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
