Schoolwear Show Preview

Class is in session: What to expect at The Schoolwear Show

Schoolwear has gone through a lot of change across the last calendar year. New legislation has come into effect through the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act. Under the new rules, there is a limit on branded school clothing, so with that there is no better time to reassess your schoolwear offerings, and where better to do that than at The Schoolwear Show. Mark Woolgar, the event’s director, has discussed what visitors can expect as they look to return to Cranmore Business Park in Solihull on October 11 and 12.

What is on offer at this year’s event? Visitors can expect a good mix of established schoolwear suppliers alongside new businesses and brands bringing fresh ideas to the sector. The show is an opportunity to see products firsthand, from new fabrics and decoration approaches to developments in footwear, sportswear, technology, and services that can help retailers run their businesses more efficiently. Alongside the exhibitors, there will also be a seminar programme tailored to independent retailers, schoolwear suppliers and other industry professionals, as well as plenty of opportunities to network, exchange ideas and build relationships.

What sort of atmosphere could visitors expect? One of the real strengths of The Schoolwear Show is bringing the industry together in one place. Alongside the formal business taking place on stands, there will be opportunities throughout the show for retailers and suppliers to meet, exchange ideas and build relationships.

Particularly at a time of significant change for the sector, having the opportunity to speak openly with peers, share experiences and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the industry will be incredibly valuable.

Why is this show important?

The Schoolwear Show remains the only UK exhibition dedicated solely to the schoolwear sector, so it has an important role not only as a buying event, but as a place where the industry can come together, learn and exchange ideas.

This feels particularly important in 2026, with new school uniform legislation coming into effect and retailers and suppliers navigating a changing market. The show allows businesses to discuss what those changes mean in practice, ask questions and understand how others across the sector are responding.

How would you convince potential visitors to attend?

Whether visitors are looking for new products, practical guidance, ideas to develop their business or simply the opportunity to speak to others facing the same challenges, the show offers genuine value.

It is an opportunity to see products firsthand, meet established and new suppliers, hear practical insight through the seminar programme and explore opportunities to broaden
