85% of customer artwork needs fixing

T

he vast majority of customer logos need correcting before they are ready for production, according FastEditor’s new research.

The company’s first Artwork Automation Benchmark 2026 analysed 13,773 logo uploads submitted between November 19, 2025, and May 31, 2026. It found around 85% needed at least one adjustment prior to printing.

According to the report, 79% of raster files required upscaling to achieve production quality, while 61% needed vectorisation and 40% required background removal.

FastEditor said the findings underline the hidden costs associated with traditional proofing workflows, but also demonstrate the growing impact of automation. The benchmark recorded a median turnaround time of just 53 seconds from upload to production-ready artwork, compared with up to 24 hours for manual proof creation.
