Focus on Eco Clothing

Closing the loop on workwear With textile waste continuing to be a major challenge for the apparel industry, Regatta Professional is taking a signifi cant step towards circularity with the launch of its new Recycle.me range. The fi ve-piece collection has been designed to be recycled back into new textile products at the end of its life. The range includes a thermal jacket, bodywarmer, softshell, fl eece and polo shirt, available in men’s and women’s fi ts. Featuring CTF’s Infi nitee certifi cation, the garments have been independently verifi ed as recyclable and are manufactured using 100% polyester mono-fi bre fabrics and trims, making fi bre-to-fi bre recycling possible. To support the process, Regatta Professional has also introduced a dedicated take-back scheme in partnership with Salvation Army Trading Company (SATCoL), allowing worn garments to be returned through a simple online portal rather than ending up in landfi ll or incineration. At a time when less than 1% of clothing in the UK is recycled back into textiles, Recycle.me demonstrates how product design, collection schemes and recycling infrastructure can work together to create a more circular future for workwear.

Chadwick’s 967 T shirt

A sustainable solution Polyester poses a signifi cant environmental problem in fashion production. It’s energy-intensive to produce, contributes to plastic pollution, and is non-biodegradable. On the other hand, polyester is a very desired textile in sportswear, especially due to its durability, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties. It’s lightweight, strong, and resistant to stretching and shrinking, making it ideal for clothing that withstands frequent movement and washing. So, is there a solution?

Recycled polyester (rPET) is made from existing plastic waste that is cleaned, shredded, and melted before being spun into polyester yarn. This avoids having to produce new polyester from fossil fuels and gives plastic that would otherwise end up in landfi ll a new lease of life.

Chadwick’s 967 T shirt, alongside other key products in our iGEN Range, is made with 100% recycled polyester. That means retaining the athletic benefi ts of polyester without the environmental impact.

Chadwick Teamwear

This multi-purpose technical T shirt is made from 140gsm lightweight microknit fabric that is quick drying, lightweight, and easy-care durability. With 12 stock colours and sizes from 20/22 to 52/54, this makes it a versatile fi t into any team’s existing kit.
