FESPA Review | Textile

Breaking into garment printing for the first time

FESPA has been running since 1962, but in that time not once provided an exclusive exhibition for the garment printing industry. However, 64 years later, it added Textile to its roster of co-located exhibitions. Drawing some popular names from the industry FESPA’s head of marketing and events, Duncan MacOwen gave his thoughts on the event.

L

ast month, FESPA 2026 served as a meeting point for speciality printers and sign makers to

network with a host of industry experts, discover new opportunities for business growth and exchange knowledge and experiences with like-minded business professionals.

The exhibition highlighted the latest innovations in wide-format, digital, screen and textile printing, signage, personalisation, packaging and display – and more. This year, FESPA’s inaugural Textile event took place as a co-located event, running alongside FESPA Global Print Expo, European Sign Expo, Personalisation Experience, WrapFest and the brand-new Corrugated. All six FESPA 2026 events created a single destination for companies working across textile and garment printing, décor and soft signage applications, as well as related sectors.

Visitors to Textile were able to explore the latest technologies and solutions for textile printing applications, network with experts about the latest trends and gain practical insights into what the future holds for the industry.

Building on the FESPA textile heritage

FESPA created Textile for businesses working with printed textiles in apparel, sportswear, interiors and more. The event served as a meeting point and knowledge-sharing hub for individuals and businesses who work in textile production and related applications – and gave them access to technologies and experts’ insights across all areas of speciality print. Duncan MacOwen, head of marketing and events, said: “FESPA has always had a textile heritage, and our new targeted event is the next step in that journey. “For more than 60 years, our events have brought together screen and, later,

become for the FESPA community. “Textile will also allow us to cover the very specific challenges and opportunities that the sector faces today.”
