M&R Printing Equipment and Nazdar announces partnership


M


&R Printing Equipment, North America’s largest manufacturer of printed apparel decorating equipment, and Nazdar Ink Technologies, developer, manufacturer, and innovator in the field of Aqueous, UV Curable and Solvent-Based inkjet inks and fluids, announce an exclusive Development and OEM Supplier Agreement for M&R’s POLARIS High Speed Industrial Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing System, and QUATRO Direct to Film (DTF) Transfer Printer. Under the agreement, M&R and Nazdar are expanding an existing relationship that began several years ago with the joint development of the high-performance SAPPHIRE


Inks used on the Polaris DTG Printing System to include an ink set for M&R’s recently released QUATRO DTF Transfer Printer. Additionally, M&R has executed an OEM Supplier, and Global Logistics agreement to ensure an uninterrupted supply of these inkjet products for M&R Customers and Dealer Partners. Study shows that additive manufacturing reduces emissions

tratasys has shared the results of a study commissioned by the Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association (AMGTA), that demonstrates the environmental benefits of additive manufacturing for the fashion industry. The report, “Comparative Analysis: 3D Material Jetting vs Traditional Methods for Designer Luxury Goods,” presents results of a year-long collaboration between AMGTA, Stratasys, and the DYLOAN Bond Factory, a Pattern Group company - the first Italian hub of luxury fashion design and production. The use case involved the modeling of the transition from traditional manufacturing methods to advanced Additive Manufacturing to create 16,000 units of a logo applique for 8,000 pairs of luxury designer shoes, printed on fabric, produced by the innovative Stratasys J850 Fashion TechStyle printer. The analysis and results of the study revealed: • Additive manufacturing print-to- textile production process cuts CO2e emissions by 24.8%, when compared


| 10 | December 2023 with customer’s traditional processes.


• When accounting for customer scope of production (16,000 printed logos, for 8,000 pairs of shoes), additive manufacturing can save almost one metric ton of CO2e.


• AM Print-to-textile saves 49.9% of stock material across the supply chain, reducing and streamlining transportation needs.


• AM print-to-textile with the J850 TechStyle is a water-less process across the measured supply chain, potentially saving over 300,000 liters of water.


• Additive Manufacturing cuts electrical energy consumption by over 64%.


• Shift to AM reduces supply chain dependencies from 4 technologies to 1: with a single additive workflow (transportation and logistics are omitted for 3 processes).


• The shift optimises production and logistical ‘stages’ from 12 to 2.


• The research was conducted by Reeves Insight, peer reviewed by ACAM Aachen Center for Additive Manufacturing GmbH.

Autumn show success


P


romo professionals were spoilt for choice as they took in the autumn editions of The BIG New Products Trade Show and The BIG Wearables Trade Show.


The combined events landed at the Radisson Hotel near Heathrow and at Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground in Manchester, with hundreds of products on display and dozens of distributors through the doors. The show certainly made an impact on visitors. Robin McCrink of 4Imprint said: “We’re carbon neutral now, and there are a lot of those products at the show which are of particular interest to us. I’ve also taken this opportunity to meet one of our suppliers face- to-face for the first time.”


Amo Singh of AD Merchandise commented: “I’ve got quite a number of my staff at the show today. That’s also given me the opportunity to get a good overview of what’s available. I’ve also been able to speak to new people and discover some new products too.” Nicky Hepworth of Logomize said: “I like that the exhibitors are a bit different each time at these shows. It’s great to get some new ideas, and it’s also a fantastic opportunity to put names to faces.”
