P&P LIVE! 2023 Review

Pulling in the crowds on the Midwest Machinery stand was the new Sublistar Star IV DTF printer. Unique features to this machine include automatic nozzle cleaning, heating units installed on the ink dampers and an additional extra of an intelligent CCD camera, which prompts the user via an app each time a nozzle becomes blocked or the inkjet is uneven. Other direct to film printers on display at the exhibition included a 60cm DTF printer from InkTec, the Polytech Pro DTF printer on the AJS Embroidery Services stand and on the YES Group stand the DTF-24H2 direct to film transfer printer from DigitalHeat FX.

Embroidery…

Innovation in this sector was on point at this year’s Printwear & Promotion LIVE! With new machines ranging from multi-heads to single-heads on display and running non-stop throughout the three-day exhibition. Over on the YES Group stand, the team showcased for the first time in the UK the latest SWF Auto Tensioning SWF/KX-Series of one- and four-heads stitching at 1,200spm, together with the first showing of the all-new SWF/KE Dual Function, Multi Flexible Series embroidery machine that produces up to 25% more than any other machine on the market.

Midwest Machinery had on display the new HCU2 single-head from Happy. This little machine runs at 1,500spm (1,400spm for caps) and is as quiet as a mouse at only 63 decibels. Other features include automatic thread tension, soft stitch and low power consumption. For the first time, Hobkirk Sewing Machines exhibited a four-head machine from Ricoma. The MT1504 complements the MT1502 (two-head) and the MT1503 (three-head) models. The team reported strong interest in this model. Although not making its exhibition debut this year, the Coloreel instant thread colouring unit was making waves during the show. The machine was being demonstrated, on not just one, but three separate stands with stunning pieces of artwork being produced throughout the three days of the exhibition. Long-standing distributor AJS Embroidery Services was showcasing the unit, along with new UK distributors Stocks Embroidery Solutions and Amaya Sales UK. The Coloreel allows users to produce outstanding designs with unlimited colours using only one thread.
