he ticketing, access and control sector is thriving - and it’s not difficult to understand why that is. Ticketing software enables operators to gain useful insights into the customer journey. Timeslot ticketing, in addition
to e-tickets, enable a smooth customer journey whilst providing a frictionless entry into a venue and providing useful data to the operators. For example, knowing attendance upfront gives operators the possibility to efficiently plan staff, F&B and queues. We are increasingly seeing the use of timeslot ticketing to better manage capacity and visitor flows. By spreading attendance throughout the day, visitors can enjoy a superior experience, and consistent income for the venue is also ensured. Sending tickets to mobile phones is a useful way to ensure frictionless entry - and there are the added benefits of their potential for use as a digital wallet or vouchers for in-park purchases. Ticketing flows have moved from serviced to self-serviced solutions. The majority of tickets are bought online, through resellers or at self-service kiosks. Local points of sale have become increasingly obsolete as everything has come to centre around mobile phones. Looking ahead, we are seeing reseller channels becoming increasingly
popular, enabling additional revenue streams for the venue whilst decreasing on-site queueing times. Opening API’s to third parties is essential as it allows venues to integrate with popular purchase trends and search engines. To meet operator requirements, Gantner Ticketing has launched the Enviso platform, a cloud-based solution for direct and indirect sales channels.
