Wildcat's Revenge opens at Hersheypark
New attractions coming to Roarr! this summer
W
ildcat’s Revenge, the first-ever hybrid coaster at Hersheypark, is now open to the public. Its highly-anticipated debut comes 100 years after the original Wild Cat coaster opened at the Park in 1923. The new hybrid is the 15th coaster at Pennsylvania’s largest amusement park, which is now home to the most coasters in the Northeast.
As the first hybrid manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) in Pennsylvania, Wildcat’s Revenge combines the best of wood and steel by adding a new steel track with unique elements to the wooden framework for a one-of-a-kind thrilling ride experience found only at Hersheypark. The 2-minute and 36-second experience begins as riders climb a 140-foot hill, plunge into an 82-degree drop and hit a maximum speed of
62 miles per hour along 3,510 feet of red track on a black steel and wood structure. The pursuit continues as riders stalk their prey through four inversions, including the world’s largest underflip, an inversion that begins with an upward climb, followed by a counter-clockwise 270° roll and a dive down towards the side.
Located in the Midway America region of Hersheypark, Wildcat's Revenge features a fully renovated coaster station with a design that harkens back to the iconic 1923 Wild Cat station, with low- pitched gables around the roof's perimeter. Guests of Hershey’s height requirement and taller (48 inches and above) will sit in one of three custom trains, showcasing fully-dimensional black, charcoal and silver wild cats exacting revenge on their wooden predecessor.
Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure in Norfolk, UK is opening four new attractions this summer ahead of the delayed launch of its new Gigantosaurus Land in 2026. The dinosaur-themed park is adding two new rides, Swing-O-Saurus and Raptor Contractor, a new live stage show, and exclusive screenings of Gigantosaurus.
Next year, Roarr! will open a Gigantosaurus- themed ride before launching the full land in 2026. Based on the animated preschool TV series, the Gigantosaurus Land was originally due to open in 2024.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer three amazing new attractions this year as we prepare for Gigantosaurus Land, which we are now looking to open in 2026,” said Adam Goymour, park director. The scheduling change “has been taken with our guest experience in mind and will provide a fun and exciting experience for guests of all ages over the coming months”, he added.
Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure has invested “over half a million pounds in these new attractions to support the development of tourism in the region”, Goymour said. “We are constantly re-evaluating long-term project plans to ensure we offer our guests the best product possible, and continue to develop the business responsibly. The decision has therefore been taken to postpone the full creation of Giganotosaurus Land for a short amount of time,” he added.
The new four-acre land is the largest development in the dino-themed park‘s history. It is being completed in three phases.
The first phase includes a ‘vertical volcano’ drop ride, spinning flower teacups, water play, a jumping pillow, and a wooden climbing den.
Goymour explained: “We need to make sure that any investment is prudent and keeps us on a sound financial footing whilst avoiding price increases for visitors at a time when many families are facing increased economic pressure.”
