In 2022, our research indicated overall attendance and major theme parks was about 58% of pre pandemic levels, largely due to sharp reductions in Mainland China. For 2023, we are expecting a strong recovery to 85% to 95% of pre pandemic levels. The strong recovery of Universal Studios Beijing and Shanghai Disney will help lift the overall Asia market.


Highlights for 2023 While most parks were quiet during the covid years, behind the scenes there was plenty of activity resulting in a few major openings in 2023. Disney has maintained their investments in expansion work and the fruits of their labor are showing results. The World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland opened to the public in November 2023 with a very strong Christmas program. The Zootopia-themed land at Shanghai Disney opened in
