Brazil The market for parks, tourist attractions and entertainment in Brazil is 89 million visitors and nearly US$107 billion in revenue, as revealed by the study “Parks, tourist attractions and entertainment in Brazil – Sector overview and new investments”, created by the Brazilian Association of Parks and Attractions (Adibra) and the Integrated System of Parks and Tourist Attractions (Sindepat), and produced by the company Noctua, specialized in market intelligence in hospitality and entertainment. The parks and attractions sector are


responsible for 35 thousand direct jobs. During the peak season, the sector hires another 13,000 employees to meet demand. It is also estimated that the segment is responsible for more than 130 thousand indirect jobs, as explained by the president of Adibra, Vanessa Costa. The research by the two associations indicates that at least 63 new park and attraction projects are being structured, which together generate investments of US$1.9 billion. It should be noted that water parks and tourist attractions lead the list of new investments. In this sense, the number of new projects stands out: Vila da Monica, Garden Park Gramado, Space Adventure or to be carried out: Kinder Park, NBA Park, and Gramado Aquarium, in the city of Gramado, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.


One of the most important projects for


the year 2024 will be the entry into operation of Arvorar, a second park of the Beach Park company, which will seek to promote education and environmental awareness in a fun way, where visitors of all ages They will be able to learn about the importance of animal welfare and biodiversity through recreational experiences. As its main attraction, Arvorar will have


three large immersion aviaries, with a total area of 3,000 square meters, where the public will be able to observe, on a tour monitored by environmental educators, around 250 animals of the Brazilian fauna. But one of the most important


achievements of 2023 for the amusement park sector in Brazil was the updating and promulgation of the Technical Standard ABNT NBR 15.926:2023, which had been in progress since 2011. In the regulations, the chapters on Terminology, Safety Requirements, Inspection and Maintenance, Operation and Water Parks and chapters on Trampoline Parks, Snow Parks, Theming and Inclusion of People with Disabilities were included. The process was led by Adibra, the


Brazilian Association of Parks and Attractions, which was advised by a committee made up of renowned industry specialists. The president of the Adibra


Advisory Council, Francisco Donatiello Neto, highlighted that one of the most important values of the technical standard is having achieved that the standards for parks were adapted to the climatic conditions, the profile of the public and other specificities of the country. The president of Adibra, Vanessa Costa, highlighted the importance of having the highest quality Technical Standards, completely aligned with international standards.


Mexico After the pandemic, in Mexico outdoor attractions reported a greater recovery unlike indoor industry brands. Around 100 local brands, members of


the Global Association of the Parks and Attractions Industry (IAAPA), reported growth in the last year of 18 percent, reported Xavier López Ancona, CEO of Kidzania and president of the Council of Advisors of IAAPA Latin America. The Riviera Maya and Cancun are the


regions where most of the park projects in Mexican territory are concentrated. Highlights include Aqua Nick, from Nickelodeon, a theme park with a hotel; Jungala, a Vidanta Group park that offers a VIP experience, the Cancun SkyWheel, without forgetting the Xcaret parks, including Xenses, Xplore, Xel-Há, Xplore Fuego and Xavage.
