Sun Group’s iconic Ba Na Hills resort will be expanding to become the Ba Na - Suoi Mo Ecotourism and Urban Complex covering 800 hectares with a US$2 billion investment in resorts, attractions, sports facilities and real estate projects. Sun Group Phu Quoc resort is expanding with as many as 20,000 hotel rooms, including a new Hilton hotel cluster. Phu Quoc was selected to host the APEC Summit in 2027, prompting massive investments in tourism infrastructure. Sun Group is so bullish on the Phu Quoc island destination that they are
investing in the airport expansion and have launched a new airline in 2025. Sun Group is also venturing into the casino integrated resort space and has announced a US$2 billion integrated casino and tourism resort project in Quang Ninh on the northeast coast of Vietnam. Vingroup is also bullish on Phu Quoc,
and the VinWonders theme park added a major new roller coaster in 2025. VinWonders Phu Quoc opened in 2021 and is the largest theme park in Vietnam and is generally considered to have the highest quality theming and guest
experience. Vingroup recently announced that it will be developing a large theme park and integrated resort development in the State of Telangana, India. Overall, 2025 was an active year in
Asia for new parks and expansions. Visitors are rewarding these investments with higher attendance from both residents and tourists. However, 2025 was also a poor year for those attractions that had not invested in several years. The post-COVID boom in attendance is over, and visitors are being more selective in attending parks offering new experiences.
