Waterpark Attraction of the Year

ATTRAKTION! for Cinesplash 5D at Yas Waterworld

Sponsored by: 46

Managing director, Markus Beyr tells Park World: “It was a great honour to nominated as best Waterpark Attraction 2019 with strong competition. And we were all very excited when Cinesplash at Yas Waterworld was announced. Wet 4D theatres, we invented the first simple version with a client from an Austrian waterpark in 2009, and it was a long way and huge development steps to become this exciting attraction in 2019. “What do I think made us stand out to the judges?

Cinesplash in 2019 is a globally unique experience; besides the many water effects, you are able to experience while watching 4 D film, it has climactic effects like waterfall, and then all of a sudden, we flood the theatre, and still move the seats. I have seen many shows with guests starting to scream as nobody would ever expect such an effect in a theatrical auditorium. I think this uniqueness makes the attraction stand out. Besides, the more and more Cinesplash projects we do prove, that this attraction format - a wet 4D theatre, is a good investment for waterparks to differentiate from the competition, and many parks charge an additional fee and therefore have a great return on investment. “The event had a good mix of operators and suppliers.

We enjoyed the evening and met many friends and business collaborators. Will we be taking part again next year? Yes, it is in the plan.”
