boasts an adrenaline-centric programme that includes a ‘Jurassic Island’ 3D Boat Ride, along with a ‘Swat’ live-action stunt show. The other park, located in the popular island destination of Bali, is selling itself as “the world’s first social media theme park” - a claim backed up by an array of rides, shows, and attractions all primed for maximum share-ability. Eric Carnagey, Legacy’s chief business

development officer, and also an owner, says that Trans Studio is a good model for emerging markets where large-scale Disney and Universal-style theme parks may not yet make economical sense. “The great thing about Trans Studio is that they are giving the people of Indonesia an experience every bit as good as the world’s best theme parks, but at a scale that financially pans out of a developing market. We anticipate to see many more boutique parks like this pop up in all corners of the globe.”

Record Breaker Both Trans Studio Cibubur and Trans Studio Bali feature signature dark rides designed and produced by Legacy, aiming to serve as the park’s main draws. Trans Studio Cibubur is home to ‘Pacific Rim: Shatterdome Strike,’ an ambitious attraction integrating elements of immersive theatre to create a 20 minute experience that its creators say is much more than a typical dark ride. Based on the popular

world, one of which will be a record-breaker of epic proportions. Located in Zhuhai, China, the Chimelong Marine Science Museum will claim the title of ‘World’s Largest Indoor Theme Park’ with its floor area of nearly 4,000,000 square feet (371,612 sq m). On a somewhat smaller scale, Lotte’s Magic Forest theme park is expected to debut in Busan, Korea in mid-2021, and like Trans Studio, it was designed to a budget more conducive to a regional market. However, unlike the Trans Studio park, the majority of Magic Forest will be outdoors to take advance of Busan’s favorable weather. Reflecting on Legacy’s milestone year, Eric

Carnagey hopes the scope and scale of the scale of these projects won’t scare away potential partners with smaller projects. “We’re very lucky to have had the chance to collaborate on some of the largest and most exciting destinations in the world, and I hope that perception would never preclude someone with a smaller project from reaching out to us. Part of running a small tight ship like ours is our ability to take on projects of all sizes, and some of the best things we ever produced have been realised on the most modest budgets.”
