Reports place the final value of the transaction at US$160m, a figure significantly below the total amount historically invested in the property by the Martínez family, former owners of Enjoy. That investment included US$140m paid in 2013 for the then Hotel Casino Conrad, followed by a further US$198m in 2017, underlining the scale of the loss now being absorbed through the divestment.
The property includes 294 hotel rooms, all with open terraces and views of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as five restaurants, three bars and a 5,000-square-metre convention centre with capacity for more than 5,000 people, described as the largest in the region. The hotel also holds a five-star classification granted by Uruguay’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports and includes additional facilities such as a spa and tennis courts.
On the gaming side, the casino features 76 table games and 567 slot machines, alongside an outdoor terrace gaming area overlooking the peninsula and Playa Mansa. It also includes the VIP Club Conrad and Club Fortuna lounges, both regarded as major premium gaming spaces within the regional market.
