Veremos qué pasa con esto, porque ya se esgrime la posibilidad de que empresas ya autorizadas dejen de operar legalmente, y hagan éxodo hacia el mercado ilegal, dejando sin los impuesto de estas al Estado. Mientras tanto, en México, así como en casi toda la región, se reporta crecimiento de casinos y apuestas online regulados, y porque no, ¡los no regulados también! Según el reporte de Digital PR & Outreach, los casinos y sitios online que más rinden lo hacen atrayendo a jugadores que buscan diversidad en juegos, mejores bonos. Caliente y Codere dominan el interés de búsqueda en las regiones centrales del país, pero plataformas sin licencias local ganan terreno en los estados del norte, reflejando prioridades cambiantes de los jugadores.
Por su parte, en Perú, el Congreso ha aprobado el Impuesto Selectivo al Consumo (ISC) con un equitativo 1% al GGR del juego remoto, que el doctor Nicolas Samohod Rivarola califica, que: “Genera empatía con los empresarios e inversionistas, nacionales y extranjeros, del sector”

The most important news in the region comes from Brazil, where the Senate has approved a bill to ban many aspects of sports betting advertising – or Bets as they are called over there. More on this below. Although it may be said that the ads ban Law is a bit onerous, the worst thing that is happening now in Brazil is the threat of an increase in taxes on Bets, from 12 to 18% on GGR. The usual problem that affects the industry is the line of improvised and idle politicians who can only see how to bleed the gambling or betting sector with whimsical taxes. In Brazil, the objective for the proposed rise in GGR tax is to make up a R$20 billion shortfall in projections by the Ministry of Finance that took no account of collecting an increase in the Tax on Financial Transactions (IOF). We will see what happens with this, because the possibility is already being put forward that companies that are already authorized will stop operating legally in Brazil, and make an exodus to the illegal market, leaving the State without the taxes they currently pay.
Meanwhile, in Mexico, as well as in almost the entire region, fair growth is on the up in regulated casinos and online betting and, why not, also the unregulated ones also! According to a report by Digital PR & Outreach, casinos and online gambling sites perform better by attracting players who are looking for diversity in games, better bonuses, and other goodies. In Mexico, Caliente and Codere dominate search interest in the country’s central regions, but local unlicensed platforms are gaining traction in northern states, reflecting changing gamer priorities in these
jurisdictions.
In Peru, Congress has approved an additional tax (Impuesto Selectivo al Consumo) at the rate of 1% to GGR to all operators and on all types of gambling and betting, described by Dr. Nicolas Samohod Rivarola as one that:
