parte de avances en legislación del juego por Internet y apuestas deportivas en Perú, y la exigencia en Chile en hacer algo igual mientras que se busca la prohibición de publicidad en camisetas de futbol por negocios de apuestas no autorizadas en el país, Brasil sigue sumido en la negación
de que la tierra es redonda. Ultimamente, se ha llamado a la intransigencia del presidente Bolsonaro, un secuestro por el campo de legisladores evangelistas, quienes siguen plantados en su actuar satanizado contra los juegos de azar, como si muchos de ellos no se jugaran sus reales en el ilegal y ubicuo Jogo do bicho, y de seguro, recibiendo donaciones para sus campanas electorales provenientes de operadores de esta lotería callejera. Al contar con los evangelistas como único soporte político para las
próximas elecciones, Bolsonaro no puede actuar con inteligencia, sino con el moralismo “medio bestia”, es culpable del tabú contra el juego existente en el campo evangelista y religioso brasileño. Por lo menos, eso es lo que dijo el columnista del diario Folha de Sao Paulo, Hélio Schwartsman, escribiendo sobre el sector del juego y las apuestas en Brasil, y defendiendo el derecho del ciudadano a apostar legalmente en el país. Buenas noticias de Panamá, donde con el propósito de coadyuvar con los jugadores compulsivos, la Junta de Control de Juegos en conjunto con la empresa privada, ha lanzado el Programa Prevención y Rehabilitación del Juego Patológico. El secretario ejecutivo de la JCJ, Manuel Sánchez Ortega, dijo que el objetivo es la creación del Centro de Rehabilitación para atender a las personas que están inmersos en esta enfermedad y que, aunque el problema atañe solo a una minoría de jugadores existe, y por ende resulta justo que se le preste atención. Los dos meses pasados nos trajeron eventos de Perú Chile, Republica Dominicana y Brasil, reportados todos en Casino International Americano, y para agosto, el SAGSE Miami reportó, “al completo”, a un mes de la realización del evento. unauthorized betting businesses in the country. Lately, President Bolsonaro’s intransigence to sign and approve the
sports betting bill has been called a kidnapping by the evangelist legislators camp, who continue a campaign to demonize casino and sports betting - as if many of them did not gamble a few reals on the ubiquitous and illegal daily street lottery Jogo do bicho. Surely some of them receive donations for their electoral campaigns from the operators of this illegal lottery. Counting on the evangelists as the only political support for the next
general elections, Bolsonaro cannot act with intelligence but with a “half beast” moralism that is guilty of a taboo against gambling, as this exists within Brazilian evangelists and some other religious beliefs. At least, that’s what a columnist of the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper, Hélio Schwartsman, said when writing about the gambling and betting sector in Brazil, and defending the right of the citizen to bet legally in the country. Good news from Panama, where in order to help compulsive gamblers the Gaming Control Board, in conjunction with private gaming enterprise, has launched the Prevention and Rehabilitation of
Pathological Gambling Program. JCJ Executive Secretary Manuel Sánchez Ortega said that the objective is the creation of the Rehabilitation Center to attend to people who are affected by problem gambling and that, although the problem concerns only a minority of players, it does exist and therefore it is fair that due attention is paid to this. The last two months brought us industry events from Peru, Chile, the Dominican Republic and Brazil, all reported in our current edition of Casino International Americano.
