VSODDS.BET QA &
Dalius Dabashinskas
Casino International Online’s Matt Broughton caught up with
VSODDS.BET’s founder for the low down on this newcomer to the sportsbook sector.
CIO: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background? DD: I have a master’s degree in Business from the Norwegian Business School. I have used my qualification to work in a number of sectors over the years. For a short while I ran a duty-free business, then a staffing agency and then I moved into sports statistics and analysis where I worked across different organisations from 1994 until this year when I founded and launched
VSODDS.BET.
CIO: The online sportsbook sector is fiercely competitive, so what made you take the decision to launch
VSODDS.BET? DD: At first glance, the global online sportsbook sector is ferociously competitive and totally overcrowded and you would be forgiven for thinking there is no room for
yet another brand. But if you look closely, the majority of operators offer their players the same product, odds and markets, promotions and rewards, just wrapped up in a different canvas depending on the brand. For these operators, the battleground is in marketing and
promotions and bonuses. Those that are the most aggressive and generous tend to acquire the most customers. But there are other ways of engaging punters while also standing out from the crowd, and here at
VSODDS.BET we believe this can be done through the odds and markets that we offer our punters – in particular, pre-match fixed odds. As such, we have positioned ourselves as offering the
best value odds in the market and have built a highly-skilled team of traders that rely on the dark art of bookmaking to offer a truly unique proposition. Combining their expertise with state-of-the-art data feeds, we are confident in the odds and markets we
offer and are not afraid to push the boundaries and swim in the opposite direction to our rivals.
CIO: Where did the idea for
VSODDS.BET come from, and what is your brand position and messaging? DD: It came from my own experience as a sports bettor, and the lack of options regarding odds and markets. Across all the major operators I noticed they were almost identical and

as a bettor I knew I wanted more choice and value above and beyond the different bonuses and promotions being offered. And with that realisation,
VSODDS.BET was born. The brand position and messaging is all about punters going head to head with the best odds in the market – no gimmicks and silly promotions with unfair terms and conditions, just odds that offer the best value – period. This is at the core of our brand ethos and is the key message we are sending out via our marketing efforts.
CIO: Why did you decide to focus on pre-match fixed odds? What sort of player does this type of market appeal to? DD: Pre-match fixed odds appeal to a more considered bettor. They don’t get caught up in the emotion and adrenaline of in-play wagering, and instead like to take a thoughtful and calculated approach to the bets they place. These people are often sports fans and like to place their bets before the game so they can concentrate on the action taking place on the field instead of being glued to their smartphone and/or tablet device.
CIO: Do certain sports and tournaments work better for pre-match fixed odds? If so, which ones? DD: Pre-match fixed odds work for all sports and tournaments. For example,
VSODDS.BET offers markets on football, golf, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, boxing, baseball, American football, Formula One and handball – with more to follow. Fixed odds have fallen out of favour with most sportsbook operators in recent years due to the increased risk they have over other types of odds. Indeed, smart and savvy players can take advantage of the odds being fixed and use their knowledge and experience to increase their chance of winning. But we see that as providing our punters with additional value. Of course, we
