PokerStars hosts ‘biggest ever’ online poker day

okerStars has hosted what it said was the “biggest day in online poker history”, offering players more than $28 million (25 million Euro) in guaranteed prizes. The Amaya-owned operator staged 1,275 tournaments, with players around the world able to take part. The initiative coincided with the PokerStars Spring Championship of Poker Main Event.

Inspired secures deal with Finland’s Veikkaus

nspired Entertainment has agreed a virtual sports partnership with Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus. Under the agreement, Inspired will supply a range of virtual sports products to Veikkaus land-based sports betting locations and the agency’s website. Inspired secured the contract via a public request for proposal (RFP) process. Owned by the Finnish government, Veikkaus holds an exclusive betting licence on lotteries

nline esports-focused gambling company Vagmbling has announced it will change its name to Esports Entertainment Group in anticipation of


its new platform launch. The company said the name change is due to the launch of its new esports online wagering platform in June, to provide better name recognition in the industry, and to support and aid branding of its esports industry and trade conferences worldwide. It also said that the name change reflected the company’s aim to expand its scope of operations within the eSports entertainment and gaming industry. Grant Johnson, chief executive of Esports

GW Games partners with GAMEIOM

W Games has become the latest gambling company to enter into a partnership with GAMEIOM. Under the deal, GAMEIOM will provide


its proprietary platform and remote gaming server to GW Games.


GAMEIOM said the arrangement will enable gaming content supplier GW Games to access its “expanding distribution reach” and connect with new customers. Andrew Henson, commercial director at GW Games, said: “For some months, we have been assessing our routes to the global gaming market, and it is increasingly more challenging to choose a partner that fits with our interests and common goals. I’m delighted to say that GAMEIOM have certainly met, and in truth, exceeded those targets; they have gone beyond what we were looking for in terms of flexibility and transparency; in fact our tech lead has commented on how easy the integration has been, which is certainly a first.”
