G2E ASIA 2017
G2E Asia 2017 G
The biggest show yet, and coincidentally by far the best. It’s no surprise that both the quality and quantity of visitors makes the difference between a good show and a bad one.
2E Asia 2017 was vibrant, interesting, and boasted more international visitors from around Asia than any previous iteration. In short, it was a huge success and
underlined its credentials as the number one show in the region – and by some distance. We round up the best of the best at this excellent expo…
DRGT After five years away, DRGT decided it was
time to return to Asia’s premier show and they did it with aplomb. Rob Denham told Casino International: ”It’s time for DRGT to return to G2E Asia – we haven’t been here with our own stand for five years. That maybe wasn’t the right time for us, this company is about organic growth. We have quite a few installs in Asia already, but now it is time to grow that business in this region. “It’s a fantastic show, it’s very busy and
apparently 25% bigger than last year.” Speaking of size, Rob took the opportunity to
explain to us why size really does matter, particularly when it comes to player communication and loyalty cards. He said: “You have a standard sized player tracking module on a slot machine that everyone has now – but it doesn’t give you a lot of room to communicate. We have developed a screen that is the largest that can fit on the majority of machines out there. It’s not just a bigger screen, it also has an RFID reader behind it, so you can tap on and tap off with a contactless loyalty card. You can even use that facility with a mobile phone if you have a relevant app for the property you are in – if your property has an online casino, your players could even play with a single player account between online and offline. We have combined technology here to give something that people really want.”
GameCo
On the SUZOHAPP stand, we found Blaine Graboyes, aka the poster boy for skill gaming. It

makes sense for GameCo to be at G2E Asia because the Asian market has such huge potential for the company, as Blaine explained: “I think Japan will be a huge market for us, but so could all of Asia – there is tons of floor space, a lot of gamers, everyone is trying to diversify and they’re looking for new products for a new audience. They’re only tracking a few years behind the US in terms of the demographic change. “There is a built-in aspiration for casinos with the younger generations in Asia, whereas in the States we are working to build that aspiration’ young people in the US associate casinos with their parents and grandparents, but in Asia casinos are cool. “We are showing all three of our GLI-11-
approved games here. We received approval in march and that is really speeding up our deployment. We launched at Foxwoods recently, in Chile now as well, California, more casinos in New Jersey, across North America, we are working on deals in the EU and launching into Asia this year as well. “We are on the SUZOHAPP stand for this
event because we have a great, close relationship with the company: they built our unique controller, and are also a service and technology partner for us in the Asian region too.”
NOVOMATIC
With their official distributor in the region Jade Gaming, Novomatic brought a large and varied product suite to G2E Asia. The highlight for us was the development of a facet with the Octavian ACP software that allows casinos to keep a better, real-time financial handle on junket operations – we haven’t seen anything like this before and it is especially relevant for Asia. Novomatic’s VIP range is really striking, with a feel of quality and on Asia’s large gaming floors, should find a willing market in the region. G2E Asia saw the company introduce the new V.I.P. Lounge cabinet. This slimline
cabinet is one of three V.I.P. cabinets launched this year and provides the V.I.P. experience in a space-optimized lounge format. Creating a large impression at the show, this new style of cabinet offers an affordable way of bringing the V.I.P. experience into the mass segment. Elsewhere, the Gaminator Scorpion cabinet
was displayed in a bank of four, showing the NOVO LINE Interactive and Impera Line HD platforms. This latest version of the international best-selling GAMINATOR cabinet is highly attractive with a matte black finish and comes with three 24” full HD LED screens.
XSG Xiang Shang Group (XSG) focussed on its
increasingly diverse range of gaming services, exhibiting the social-media-enabled mobile game “Bravo Casino,” the self-developed gaming platform “08 Online,” the visually polished “Fish Hunter” game, LAN base
