GOODBYE 2018…

Andrew Morgan International Direct

ICS

What was great about 2018? It has been a great year for both ICS and the wider industry Wry.. We were acquired by Racing P August, which has been a v positive move for us. The twotwo businesses are compliment and from an ICS

Post in very

ntary

perspective, it provides access to more expertise and enables us to grow considerably.

The year saw us become firmly

established as the most effective translation company in the iGaming sector growing both the number of clients and languages covered. We significantly boosted our capability in translating slots games by getting three major clients on board and moved into the African market through our Afrikaans and Swahili services.

In November we launched our live interpreting services, too. Starting with

Chinese, we can now cover 18 languages both remotely and on site at conferences and events. We also enjoyed our first stand experience at an iGaming event, exhibiting at Betting On Sports in September. The PASPA repeal provides huge opportunities in the US market and we have

established a dynamic US-based sports content team, covering all popular sports – including college football – to serve clients with quality betting-related audio, video and editorial.

What was bad about 2018? It has been a positive year for the company, but the industry has suffered a lot of negative and to some extent unfair headlines and press. Moving into the new year, I think the industry needs to do more to shout about the incredible technologies, products and services that make it one of the largest and most advanced in the world. The industry also needs to consider new revenue streams now that a number of authorities are clamping down on advertising, while in the UK, the damaging legacy of FOBTs needs to be overcome.

What are you excited about for 2019? Developing new and exciting international sports content and services for the global market. To help facilitate this, we are moving into bigger, better and more modern offices close to the centre of Leeds in the spring. We will also be building our video capabilities and creating additional content and channels from our new purpose-built studios. We are hoping our interpreting services will feature heavily in 2019, too.

In addition, we will be growing the translation bureau and expanding our

expertise to cover new sectors such as video gaming. We also have plans in place to combine our translation, audio and video capabilities with exciting new products and services. We will be targeting new territories, particularly the US where we want to

establish ICS as the go-to content and translation specialists. Our goal is to offer 75 languages by the end of 2019, having added five to our roster this year, taking our current offering to 68.
