…HELLO 2017! yuttana590623/Adobe Stock

Andrew Woolfson, co-founder and CTO BE THE HOUSE

What has been the biggest event for Be The House in 2016? Be The House is very new to the scene, but launching our first

product with Betfair was the biggest event. We are launching new versions of our product in the coming weeks which we think will kick things up another gear again. ICE and G2E remain the focus as events for BTH

What do you think was the most important occurrence for the industry in 2016? With the political changes in 2016, the most important occurrences are probably Brexit and the US election. In the medium

term, those two events will have a regulatory impact. It isn’t clear to see which way that will go. Trump especially could have a strong impact on the US market. The Libertarian, anti-regulation, rhetoric suggests

that there is a chance for opening up online gaming but some of his backers and some of his personal interests may suggest that he would rather keep it centralised to the major physical gaming centres

What are you most excited about for the industry in 2017? Probably, virtual reality casinos as that technology expands.

There has been a steady race to more realistic gaming since online casinos started expanding and, if executed well, this could be really exciting.

What are you most excited about for your own company in 2017? Be The House is going to be expanding through distribution

partners and so we will see a large increase in the number of operators using our games. We also have other products coming out and different executions of how you can expand the concept of playing single event games of several consecutive plays. We believe that in 2017 there will be a market adoption of this concept and gamblers will start to become very familiar with the types of bets that this opens up for them and the ability to cash out during their bets.
