Renovation Demand Continues Yet 12% of Homeowners Have Put Projects on Hold, Houzz Survey Finds

Home renovation demand continues, with more than three-quarters of homeowners on Houzz completing a project in 2023, currently renovating or planning to start by the end of next year. However, the industry is not immune to the challenges a volatile national economy poses. Faced with inflation and rising interest rates, 12% of homeowners have put their projects on hold. That said, as homeowners choose to remain in their ageing homes rather than move, they continue to turn to industry professionals for assistance with necessary repairs and discretionary projects that improve their quality of life. A quarter of homeowners are currently planning a renovation, with kitchen and bathroom projects topping the list. To tackle these substantial projects, 91% plan to hire a professional, including builders, electricians and kitchen and bathroom fitters, among others.

property is refurbished and energy efficiency measures are added it is a requirement to undertake an assessment to determine what, if any, additional ventilation is needed, based on the estimated impact of work. This is to ensure adequate ventilation, so indoor air quality (IAQ) isn’t negatively affected. If you have made no changes to a property and already have an intermittent bathroom fan fitted, you can replace it with a new intermittent fan. However, there are huge benefits to moving to a continuous running ventilation system since the bathroom fan will operate at a low speed, continuously maintaining good IAQ and if boost is required, it will be at a lower level compared to an intermittent fan. This means lower power consumption and noise levels. Part F gives detailed guidance on required levels of airflow needed by room and house size and should be followed when selecting a fan

Entering awards can be highly beneficial for businesses. Firstly, winning or even being nominated for an award enhances a company’s credibility and reputation. It serves as a third-party endorsement, demonstrating to clients, partners, and potential customers that the business is recognised and respected within its industry. Awards also provide a platform for businesses to showcase their achievements and innovations, creating a competitive edge in the market.

Moreover, the process of entering awards often involves a touch of self- assessment, prompting businesses to reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement. Additionally, winning awards can boost employee morale and motivation, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment within the workforce.

Overall, participation in awards not only provides external validation but also serves as an internal catalyst for growth and continuous improvement in a highly competitive business landscape. PJH, having been recognised itself across many industry awards, can underscore the positive impact on employee morale, highlighting how winning or even being shortlisted for awards contributes to a culture of achievement within the company.
